Venerated Remains
Originally a swampland that had been reconfigured as a lake, Lake Mokoan was in the process of being transformed into Winton wetlands when I visited in 2009. The shallow, often dry lake bed provided a wealth of detritus, and the gathering and transforming of these remains became a way to memorialise the lake at a particular moment in history.
